The very best thing you can do to your hair is learn to wiggle your scalp muscles, they’re at the back of your head, approximately at the level of the tops of ears, and when they’re contracted it brings LOTS of blood to the roots, and that strengthens the hair like crazy, it will get thicker, shiny, and very healthy looking. It will also handle heat much better. If you learn to do that young and keep doing it 10mn every day ever since, your hair will probably never become grey, unless you reach 80 years.

In the meantime, just stop straightening it, over the long haul you will just lose your hair. I used to straighten it a lot, after a few years it all fell apart and it took me five years to get it back. During these five years it was ugly big time.

You can apply two spoons of honey, one egg yolk, one mashed banana and olive, avocado, and castor oil on your hair, keep that all night, head wrapped in aluminium foil and wash it up the morning, do it either every day a week per month, or twice a week every week. Coconut milk and oil work very well to, but it really stinks when you wake up in the morning ! Anytime you want to wash your hair, apply any of these oils on your hair for at least half an hour. It does real good to your hair, you’ll notice after a few months. Shea butter is great as well. Your hair will be silkier and shinier. If it’s very damaged, cut it a few inches, it will be easier for it to recover.

Stop blowdrying it, hold it in a pony tail when you got to sleep, sleep on a silk pillowcase also ! If you don’t have that, just go and buy one, it’s very beneficial to your hair.

All this works, but in a superficial way. Hair and skin must be taken care of from the inside : clean blood, healthy food, exercise. Hope that helps.

You are right,it damages your hair…ALOT! But if you have to do it,( know my own daughters do it too, even though I gripe/warn them to stop lol),use a Heat Defense Spray like CB said, plus use a leave-in conditioner/treatment everyday(Sebastions Potion 9# is THE best imo),and finally I’d do a hot-oil treatment 2-3 times a week:-)

Also make sure you are taking vitamins everyday, they really do help with the health of your hair, especially B Vitamins,Omega 3,6,&9 and Biotin.

There are a lot of tips for keeping your hair healthy , some of them are:

- Wash your hair regulary, if your hair doesn’t get oily alot then do not wash it daily. It will take the healthy oils out of it. If your hair is very oily then wash it daily. Use a type of shampoo that suits your hair typer and massage your scalp gently. If your in a rush then use a blow drier to dry it, if your not in a hurry then let it dry naturally. Do not tie it when it’s wet, it will stink.

- Do not dye your hair alot. It ruins your hair.

- Straightening your hair alot ruins your hair. Stop straightening it alot. Once a week only, keep a limit of straightening your hair because it makes your hair thin and stiff. Straightening your hair daily is bad, very bad.

- Do not use lots of hairspray and gel, it ruins your hair too.

- If you tie your hair alot, let it down so it can rest.

- There are natural ways to have beautful hair that do not need a hair straightener or curler, you can ask me if you have any question

- Drink lots of water.

I hope i helped

You have been given some great advice. I would first like to say to stop your frequent use of any direct heat appliances (flat irons, curling irons, blow dryers). If at all possible limit that to once a month. There a couple of ways that you can get silky straight hair without the use of a flat iron everyday.

Secondly, if you’re going to use direct heat frequently it is very important that you develop a weekly deep conditioning treatment. This will help to provide the moisture and luster your hair will need as a result of all of the flat ironing. It’s great to use a product that has both protein and moisture. I use and recommend Aveda Damage Remedy.

so try this…regular trims are a must, about every 7-9 weeks. if its been awhile since you have had a trim then inches may be called for to get to healthy hair. i use vitamin e on fresh washed hair.(its a vitamin that can be purchased where you buy vitamins, cut open capsule, squeeze into hand, rub hands together and apply to hair) dont message into scalp. if you get too much then just rewash it. hair will feel slightly sticky until dry then it will be nice and soft. it tames the frizzies, deep conditions and makes hair grow about three in a month. it takes about a month for the e to kick in. dont brush your hair but maybe once a week to message the scalp, i use a wide tooth comb at other times. brushing breaks off hair. i just started biotin vitamins two months ago this sat and notice and big growth spurt from that. biotin is cheap. i also have the biotin shampoo that i got from a vitamin store online. five bucks for a big bottle and a big bottle of E is about 8 bucks. the biotin is about 3 bucks. good luck
