Tips and questions for paintball?

Hi,I did the following:
Q&A: Tips and questions for paintball?
Im a pretty decent paintball player I do not get shot often and I often have the highest amount of *kills* but Im still looking into becoming better and maybe entering tournaments.
1. What is a good full head mask that is camoflauged and has a non glare coating and non fog.( I need non glare because I have recently bought a digital woodland blouse and pants but the glare off my mask often gives my position away.
2. What are tournaments like?
3. I’ve played war games and mil sim stuff all my life, Im a pretty great tactician can this tie into paintball?
I dont want to sound cocky or like a 1 man team I have to have teamates when I play but I want to develop my personal wellness. ( The game I played today for 4 hours I had 8-10 paintball matches and only got shot once, I often was the one to make huge flanking manuvers and be agressive towards the opposing team)

1. Don’t get a full head mask. They’re hot, bulky, they get in the way, and it’s unlikely you’ll get a bounce off of it. Stick with a half mask and if you’re worried about blending in, just put a camo bandana on your dome. One major benefit of a half mask is if you get shot on the dome, it’s likely the ball will bounce off instead of break. Yeah, it’ll hurt like hell, but you’re still in the game so suck it up and tag the guy who was shotting at you. A few good camo masks are the new BT edition Invert Avatar ( http://www.ansgear.com/Invert_Avatar_Thermal_Paintball_Goggles_BT_Edition_p/invertavatarmaskbt.htm ) or the JT Flex 8 ( http://www.ansgear.com/Jt_Flex_8_Paintball_Mask_Camo_p/jtflex8camo.htm )
2. Personally, I’ve never been to a woodsball / scenario tournament (All of my tournys have been for speedball), so I wouldn’t know about that, but I honestly doubt they’re complex.
3. That works perfectly in woodsball and scenario games, and somewhat in speedball. That’s on of my favorite parts of paintball, especially coming up with plans on the fly depending on the situation. So yes, tactics are very important because you can’t expect to win just going in guns blazing.

1. Same as previous answer. I actually just bought a Flex 8 and it’s really nice for very good price. You can also buy tinted lenses to put into your mask. The actual goggles in your mask are removable and interchangable, so if you don’t like the reflextion off your lenses you can trade them out.
2. There’s the UWL which is becoming a really cool deal. The Ultimate Woodsball League has a control bases setup for points with other special aspects as well. I think it’s an amazing woodsball tournament league that allows serious competitive play without having to play with doritos, wasting an entire hopper to kill one guy, and games that can last 30 seconds to no more than like 2-5 minutes (don’t know for sure never seriously played speedball).
3. I’m actually about to leave for Oklahoma D-Day. It’s a D-Day reinactment with 4000 people on 700 acres of woods, beaches, towns, and full size tanks. During this I will be using walkie-talkies, communicating not only with my team (Power Brothers!) but with the Axis (yeah, I play German) Command to coordinate maneuvers and attacks all across the gigantic field. There are lots of setups of companies and squads that work together to position themselves in key positions, ambushes, flanking maneuvers and many military tactics.
