Question: Should I try the hair product Sun-In?
Alright, on Make-up Alley it has great reviews, but I’ve heard horror stories about this stuff!
I would like to have a little lighter, summery hair, but if it’s not possible, I’m perfectly okay with my hair now, so this isn’t like a life or death situation.
So, first off, does it work or am I better off with some lemon juice and some deep conditioning? Or both?!
and Second, I love growing my hair out, and have donated it 3 time before to “Locks of Love” and similar foundations. The only requirement other than length for donations is that you do not have salon/color-treated hair. So, if I use this product, or “lighten” or “treat” my hair in this way, will that disqualify me from donating??
Thank you so much!!

first off, DO NOT USE SUN-IN. I used it two years ago and it literally turned my hair this bright orange color that took forever to grow out! if you really want lighter summery hair, i would go with getting it highlighted or frosted at your hairdresser. My friend also used sun-in and the same thing happened to her hair. I strongly don’t recommend it.
If you do decide to use it though, It’s lemon based so there are no chemicals whatsoever. if you want to try it anyway, id squeeze lemon down strands of your hair and lay out in the sun for an hour. It’s the same process.
best of luck,

You can still donate,
it’s not coloring or bleaching your hair really.
I don’t think you should try it, a lot of people say it left them with orange streaks.

1. Don’t use it if you have dark brown hair. It will turn it into this nasty, patchy orange. It works, but you have to be careful. It also may damage your hair a bit. Lemon juice will literally fry your hair.
2. Yes, I think it would disqualify you if you use Sun-In. You are color-treating it, only with natural ingredients.

I dont think it will because it’s a natural process
ive used it before and it works great.. the only problem is that i over used it and had blonde hair
use it in moderation and it will be fine, just dont get carried away like i did haah =]

I would definitely not use sun in. It turned my hair orange in high school. It is virtually impossible to cover up. If you want to dye it or make it look sunkissed then get highlights or just use an all over color and dye it a shade lighter.
