Drink a hot tea with no sugar instead of coffee
Eat a lot of fiber
Eat salads and green leafy vegetables
Limit the amount of meat you eat (especially beef, steak, pork) this is good for the environment, your health, and is cheaper
Eat smaller portions at meals

Stop smoking if you smoke.
Get a pedometer to see how many steps a day you walk.
Join a gym- even better, join a gym with your spouse/co-worker/friend so you have someone to keep you going back.
