Q&A: How can I keep my hair straight after straightening?
My hair is quite curly sometimes especially if I just leave it normal after getting out of the shower, and it can have a mind of its own. Sometimes it starts to wave soon after I straightened my hair. I have a babyliss pro straightener and it can get pretty hot, 400F. Do they not work as well after some time? Or your hair gets used to it? Cause it worked so good when I first got it! I’ve tried using hair products but they seem to make my hair feel gross. Any tips or great hair products? Help please!

put weight clips at the ends of your hair!

I use a Chi straightner. I have to pretty much load my hair with product (gross i know), and every other shampoo, I use a Redken build up remover shampoo. I swear by the Chi! It is costly, but amazing. I notice that the shorther layers I have in my hair, the less hold on the straightening job. Good luck!

You could use hairspray to keep it there or get some straightening lotion that you apply before blowdrying to make it easier for hair to stay put after.

either nexxus straightening spray, or just pack on the hairspray after straightening

My hair is like yours too. I usually take a shower at night, brush and blowdry my hair, then straighten it with my Chi and use my FX (I think) straightening spray that’s a defrizzant and has heat memory. (It’s in a purple bottle and can be found at WalMart.) Then I get up again in the morning and straighten it again. After that I put a light coat of Aussie Hi Hold hairspray (which also smells great!) on it. That usually keeps my hair straight unless it gets wet, is humid, or my hair gets sweaty.

Yes, they do get worse after a while.. but, i would recommend using biosilk before you straighten it.

To make it easier to handle and straighten, you might want to look into getting it relaxed. My friend did that, and it takes a lot less time to straighten, but you can still have it curly or wavy or whatever.
good luck =]

If your hair is natural curly, than just straighting it will not help and yes it will go back to curly, you will have to use a relaxer perm to straightened you hair and every 4 to 8 week you will do it again to keep it straight, it call a relaxer or a hair a perm
