how do you work out your arms without working out your chest? ive always been slim so i never really had a lot of boobs to start off with but i dont want to loose wat little boob i have left haha i know other girls are thinking this too xD

@heatherawrful That is to target your triceps! This is a regular pushup and the one you are talking about it is a Pilates pushup

hmm i thought with push ups you keep your arms closer to your sides and not flared out like that..

@Aughal No I know that, that is partly what I meant, but seriously I could do weights all day and it does little to really build me up…I am in a weight lifting class and nada results have come except becoming a little more strong, no weight loss comes from it. A BIT of toning perhaps.

@Aughal Maybe I should also mention that I’ve been into bodybuilding/powerlifting for about 20 years and have been a fitness instructor for 7.

@Aughal But as I see it here most women have the goal to ”tone” their arms whatever that now means. If you want to get more visible muscles you have to get lower bodyfat which you can only get by taking in less calories than you consume It’s as simple as that. There’s no such thing as spot fat removal and you cant remove fat from your arms by doing arm exercises as little as you can remove fat from your belly by doing ab exercises as alot of people(mostly women) also seem to think.

@OldTelivisionRocks Sorry for late comment but I’m gonna have to call bullshit on that one. Men and women build muscle the exact same way. By pushing their muscles to their max. They dont need to approach muscle building in any other way because of different hormones. The only way hormones effect is that men build muscles ALOT easier because of higher testosterone levels, so if you as a woman have the goal to build muscles you actually have to push yourself more than a man.

I’m going to repeat the common theme amongst these comments: I can’t do push-ups, either. I’m going to do them on my knees instead, there’s just no way I can do it straight-legged yet.

that was the lamest arm workout ever, standing bicep curls are one of the laziest workouts you need to engage more muscle groups which will help build more muscle and lower body fat percentage
