Question: 7 weeks pregnant, nutrition advice?
Well I am about 7 weeks pregnant and I am trying my very best to eat a healthy diet. Before I was pregnant I hardly ever ate much of anything; however, now I have someone else to consider. Anyways, I was wondering what are the best foods that I can eat, the ones with the most nutritional value and content. Also, what fruits are best. I love watermelon…actually I ate about a half of one today, but I know it is mostly water so I am not sure if there is a point in eating it. Any advice would be very much appreciated. ! Thanks in advance.

Fruit is definitly good. Eating fruit and vegetables cuts your risk of pregnancy in half! Also…Total Raisin Bran cereal has like 100% of almost every vitamin and mineral. That would be good. I think when it comes to the best fruit with the most nutritional value…berries is the best way. Strawberries, Raspberries, Blueberries…etc. Watermelon is good for you too. Just because it has mostly water doesn’t mean anything. The fact that is a lot of water is perfect. Got to stay hydrated.

Eat as clean as you can. Try to stay away from processed foods. Get whole grains and fruit and veggies. Just follow the normal “healthy diet”. Don’t go to extremes, eat a variety of food, and don’t over eat. Not much changes when you are pregnant. You do not need to start eating a lot more.
One thing to watch for in your fruits is that yes, there is water, but there is also a lot of sugar. I eat a lot of watermelon- 38wks- and it hasn’t bothered me, but some people get sensitive to sugar later on.
Watch your salt as you go too.. this is more for comfort as you may get more sensitive to salt and swell. Stay hydrated. Have fun and good luck. Ask your doctor if there is anything you should be avoiding or consuming.
